Dec. 17, 2015—Joy Dauphin, an assistant principal at Yeager Elementary School, was named the new principal at Millsap Elementary School on Dec. 17. Dauphin replaces Jodi Matteson, who was named the new principal for Arnold Middle School in November.
Dauphin’s 11-year education career, which began after two years in the business field, has all been spent in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Her teaching path began as a substitute for one semester, followed by one year apiece at Walker and Ault elementary schools and two years at Keith Elementary School.
She was then named instructional specialist at Jowell Elementary School, serving 9 months before being named assistant principal at Holmsley Elementary School. She remained in her role at Holmsley for three years before accepting her current position at Yeager in 2012.
Dauphin earned her Bachelor of Science in Bio-Medical Science from Texas A&M University and her Master of Education in Public School Administration from the University of Houston.
“It is a privilege and honor to be selected as the new principal for Millsap Elementary, where I attended elementary school,” Dauphin said. “I look forward to building relationships with the dedicated students, staff, parents and community and continuing its traditions and positive culture of excellence in education that I still remember. I am thrilled to be a Millsap Mustang once again.”
